RECOIL Guides

REC has introduced a new material for rod guides that can only be described as revolutionary. RECOIL guides are made from a special nickel titanium alloy with unique physical properties which provide exciting new possibilities for rod builders worldwide. Until now, rod guides have been plated or have used ceramic inserts to provide wear resistance. RECOIL guides are made from an extremely hard but flexible "Shape Memory" alloy, which does not require plating, cannot corrode in any environment, and returns to its original shape after repeated deformations!

Cork Grips

REC imports only the finest grades of cork direct from Portugual.  The "Flor" grade represents the highest quality grip and "Super" is exceptional by any standard.  REC hand turns its grips to obtain an ultra-comfortable grip with an extremely smooth finish. Note that REC grips are listed in the standard "Super" grade with "Flor" grade being an optional upgrade. 

REC's broad range of styles and lengths offers a grip choice to meet every angling need.  REC also inlets all their grips for uplocking seats to the appropriate size--be sure to indicate which seat your grip is for if not ordered together.

"Master Series" Nickel Silver Fly Rod Reel Seats

For the manufacturer or experienced rod builder REC has created a collection of distinctive nickel silver reel seats for any rod weight and application. Rods built with REC's reel seats and matching components become treasured show-pieces that are extremely functional fishing tools that will last a lifetime. Gleaming nickel silver fittings coupled with select hardwood or cork spacers highlight this series. If you desire some of the finest Nickel Silver reel seats for your next freshwater rod(s), plan on building with these components.

Depending on the model, REC's nickel silver reel seats are available with decorative knurling in 4 options: Diagonal, Straight, Diamond, and REC's signature Rope pattern.  See Reel Seat Specifications for availability. All reel seats come standard with impregnated hardwood spacers. Extra-select hardwood, burl, and stabilized burl wood is offered as an option at additional costs. Reel seats may also be ordered without spacers.

There's no question REC's Nickel Silver Master Series reel seats add a distinctive touch to a fine fly rod. Because of the incredible variety of options REC offers, most seats will be a special order requiring 2-3wks processing time. Please inquire about current selection and stock.

"Classic Series" Anodized Aluminum Fly Rod Reel Seats

REC's aluminum reel seats enable you to build the perfect rod for any angling situation.  All aluminum components are anodized to meet rigorous military and industry standards wihich means REC's Classic Series seats will last a lifetime--in fresh or saltwater.  Most Classic Series seats come in your choice of Pewter, Black, Champagne, and Nickel Silver anodized colors (See Reel Seat Specifications for options). The nut, slideband and hood feature a functional decorative knurl.  All REC reel seats come standard with impregnated hardwood spacers.  Select hardwood or burl spacers are optional at additional costs.

Classic Series seats are some of the finest Aluminum seats and skeletons on the market. They are beautiful, durable, and surprisingly economical. If you're after a fine corrosion-resistant reel seat, look no further!

Because REC offers so many options to the rodbuilder in terms of wood spacers and knurling, most Classic Series seats are available only as a special order which will require 2-3wks to process. We do stock a number of their anodized salwater seats, however, so be sure to inquire about current selection.

Wood Spacers

REC offers an extensive selection of hardwood spacers which are handcrafted and inspected for precise metal to wood fit and finish--and it shows.  Depending on the model chosen, most REC spacers are given several coats of a natural oil finish which ensures that the wood is protected from the elements beyond a mere surface finish.  This finishing method allows the spacer to be touched up to the original luster after extended use.  Note that REC reel seat spacers available mortised. round, or oval. 

REC's hardwood is hand selected for consistent color, exceptional grain, and beautiful figure.  The impregnated woods are custom produced to REC's specifications for color, strength, and density.  Exotic and impregnated woods are hand buffed using natural oils only.  Select burl and stabilized burl woods are available in many species and shades.
